30th-31st January saw 4AG exhibit at one of the major machinery demonstration events, Grasslandz 2014.  This two-day event held every three years in the heart of Waikato, differs from other exhibitions in New Zealand, in that it is the only one of its type where working demonstrations of machines are held instead of just static display.  The 4AG stand was very well attended by farmers and agricultural contractors from all over the country, who were impressed with the lineup of professional machines for cultivation.  The full range of european-built 4AG disc harrows and rippers, and a full lineup of the ‘new to NZ’  Bednar range of disc cultivators and chisel ploughs machines was displayed and demonstrated.  Another popular machine was the Titan 6300 6.3mtr roller drill, which attracted a lot of interest and demonstration bookings.

The region was suffering from drought-like conditions making the ground very dry and hard.  This proved no problem for the heavy models of offset disc harrows (DVi 970 and DV 980 Magnum) being shown in action or the Heavy Duty Terraland chisel plough.  Top-working was carried out with the Swifterdisc and Atlas high speed disc cultivators.  In spite of the dry, hard conditions,  visitors commented how well each machine performed.  The 4AG site was extremely busy over the course of the two days, with many customers placing orders ahead for next Spring.  It further cemented 4AG in the minds of many contractors and farmers as the only true cultivation specialists in the industry.

"We milk 2600 cows in both North and South Islands, plus grow maize and various crops on 600 hectares of lease ground. We are constantly developing new ground to bring into production and the 4AG 970's are excellent for chopping up old, heavily thatched pasture and contouring rougher areas. Daily throughput is important to our size operation. so we're pretty happy to be averaging 3-4 hectares/hour!"
